This soap hit all performance marks-slickness, cushion with it’s strong point being lather consistency. Today’s objective was to get a nourishing post feel with the chosen items.

I leveled up the Proraso I kept in my dopp kit and glad I’m did. I forgot how good this almond scent was and not artificial at all. Performs like a good British cream should.

I am just going to keep this setup out for the next few days. I am just blown away how amazing this soap base is. Before even applying the post shave product I can already feel the moisturizing properties of the soap. I went for three

passes (WTG, XTG and ATG) rather than my usual two (WTG, ATG). No greasiness. No tackiness. No nicks. 

The Israeli Crystals. I give these a good 7/10 for smoothness and roughly 8/10 for sharpness. Not  bad at all, not the best. 

DS Cosmetics brush. This company was kind enough to send me a few brushes to try and I’m still in the process of trying them and comparing them to what I gravitate towards in my regular rotation. The brushes have a lot of backbone (more so than I typically prefer for synths) but this red one has been my favorite out of all the brushes I was sent to try and does seem to have the level of backbone I prefer. The knot is pillowy soft and the handle real comfortable.

The 7 O’Clock blades seemed optimal for two to three uses, by today’s shave they lacked cutting power. I dialed the Rex down to 1.5 since this pairing was an unknown to me. The 7 O’Clocks seemed to be a lot smoother than I remember. 

Bluebell was a local artisan who produced killer soaps (particularly in the scent department) with this particular Barbershop scent being in line with Fine’s American Blend or Soap Commander’s Honor. Since they are no longer in business I use the soap sparingly and am surprised how well it has held up the last three or so years with very minimal scent loss or drying out of the puck.
