Razor: Hone Type 15
Blade: Astra (1st use)
Brush: Turn-N-Shave “Serpent”
Soap: Stirling Soap Baker Street
Aftershave: Stirling Soap Baker Street
Continuing with my early start on No Shave November the Hone Type 15 is an ideal razor for upper cheek and neck shaving since those areas don’t require something more aggressive.

Razor: Karve Chris Bradley (C plate, 3.5” handle)
Blade: Personna Blue (2nd use)
Brush: That Darn Rob “Old Cahaba ”
Soap: Beehive Soaps Bay Rum
Aftershave: Pinaud Bay Rum
I’ve been letting my beard grow out for No Shave November but have had to trim up the cheeks and neck. This soap from a local soap maker (and picked up through Harmon’s grocery) is my favorite Bay Rum scent.

Razor: Mühle R41
Blade: Feather (1st use)
Brush: Turn-N-Shave “Wicked”
Cream: Baume.be
Aftershave Balm: Baume.be
Although many people are threatened by this razor and blade pairing (or even either product individually), I find it to be a very efficient pairing and I’m happy to report this morning’s shave was free of any blood or nicks. Although I will concede there is a decent amount of blade feel or “bite” if you will and I would approach this pairing not as cavalierly as I would others.

Razor: 1959 Gillette $1.95 “Fat Boy”
Blade: Personna Blue (1st use)
Brush: Ever-Ready
Soap: De Vergulde Hand
Aftershave: Proraso Green
De Vergulde Hand from the Netherlands is the longest produced shaving soap in the world starting roughly 450 years ago. I’ve heard of some people’s experience with it drying their skin but honestly I did not have that issue or it was mitigated with this pairing. Wonderful eucalyptus scent and honestly a better match for the Proraso green aftershave than the Proraso green soap itself. It gets strong points for ease of lather and cushion more so than post feel which was adequate however.

Razor: Feather Artist Club
Blade: Feather Professional
Brush: Rich Man Shaving Handle, Motherload Knot from Strike Gold Shave
Cream: Haircut & Shave Co. Bergamot
Aftershave Balm: The Stray Whisker After Balm
This was the best shave I’ve had with this razor yet. Although extremely efficient and always giving a close shave it is not too forgiving. Today I managed three passes with one of them being against the grain-something I have not been able to do in the past.
